Chaos & Order

Out of chaos comes order. I’ve worked harder this past week than I have in a long time and I’ve come to the conclusion that moving is of the devil! To reinforce my thought, this past week has been (or at least seems to have been) the hottest week in recent history. Add to that, the air conditioner was broken in the parsonage we moved into until Wednesday morning and there are boxes everywhere…it’s been a moving week to remember! However, all is now well as our television service was connected on Friday and on Saturday our internet service was connected (so I am online and blogging again). It is amazing what one misses without news or entertainment…or rather, what one realizes without those distractions pulling us away from God. Tonight I find myself preparing to say goodbye tomorrow to some of the greatest people God ever gathered in a church…so I might minister at a new church with more of the greatest people in the world. This is my tension: painfully leaving old friends with a joyful anticipation of meeting new friends…believing that out of chaos comes order…again.

I've learned many things from you during the last 5 years, but these are on the top of my list:
1) To be INTENTIONAL - in prayer, in service, in whatever it is God's wants done.
2) To be BOLD - I can't remember anyone using this word as much as you did.
3) To get out of my comfort zone - may I never be comfortable again if it means being out of touch with God and going/doing what He wants! (I know, I may have gone too far with this one)

If you will just hang on to those three things...then my work here was done! Congrats, you got it...I am looking forward to what God is going to do at Sesser.
