So here we are at December 31st…the last day of 2011…actually the last hours of the year. Right now I will confess that I am sick and tired of being sick…the last two days have been a barrage of sinus headaches for me. While I hate snow and ice, I do wish it would turn off cold enough to kill the germs around here (yeah, I will regret ever thinking that in a couple of weeks!). Having said all that, it is New Year’s Eve and one’s attention naturally turns to those time-honored New Year resolutions. My resolution for 2012 is to have more God. I must confess that the past year or so has been rather hectic for me. I have found myself too busy with Church related activities. Now, these are good and necessary things, but one of the biggest lies of satan is that we cannot do too much to further the Kingdom. Fact is, when we become so busy that we are forced to abbreviate or abandon our time alone with God we have actually begun to hinder the Kingdom. Dag Hammarskjold, Swedish economist, diplomat, and author, penned this prayer. “Give me a pure heart—that I may see Thee, a humble heart—that I may hear Thee, a heart of love—that I may serve Thee, a heart of faith—that I may abide in Thee.” His prayer has become mine for 2012…I also pray you would consider joining me on this journey. More God is something we all need and should strive for.

This journey, where does it start and how do we get started. This is something I have also been striving for. Open to suggestions.
WC, it begins here & now, and starts with a desire deep inside to know more of God. AW Tozer's Pursit of God is a good place to start...I have an old copy if you want to borrow it. Accountability is also a great help...let's talk abd see if we can help each other out on this journey!
